Ching~~TO MADAME HASLINA AND MY FRIENDS
Time fly very fast. After the semester exam that will fall on next week, then end our semester 3. It’s unbelievable that it could be so fast and end so soon. Before begin this third semester, I heard that it will be very pack in our time table. But I still have to accept it as a fact because my damn poor MUET result. Sigh. But after met my classmates (on the first day and even those who came late because of your personal problems), getting know each other, and become closer within each other, I realize I can able to find happiness in the class with my beloved Madame and all my friends. I am glad that all of us have such opportunity having Madame Haslina as our lecturer. She is the most different among the lecture I have met since I am in UKM. I like her as our lecturer. With her guiding on us, I have some kind of feeling that I was still in Primary school where she likes to hear from others problems, help other as she can like she does in correct my pronunciations, grammar, word usage and even correct us what she found we are wrong in anything and concern of our progress. I like it all. There has been years for me to meet such a lecturer. As I strive to live starting from our third semester begins, I feel that there is someone concern about me. I like it and appreciate it all. Thank you so much Madame. Moreover, within getting closer to each others, we face problem, we help each other as we try our best to fix it all. Along the journey, we gather for three hours from every Monday till Thursday, we learn together, discuss together, smile together and even correct each others, we become closer and closer. And now we only have two days as our lecture hours. It seems too soon for us to separate and continue our journey going to reach another station in our life. Remember to get into our Foundation English Set 5 Blog after finish this semester and post your blog whenever you free as keep in touch with each others as well...

Ching~~13 JUNE 2008
It is months for me didn’t fall sick and but I get a cold since yesterday. Have a damn bad runny nose in this weekend seems not really suitable for me to go working instead of going practice our class drama. I feel extremely tired with wiping away my nasal mucus running out through my nose. Really feel lazy to go out with such bad condition and take a long rest on my bed but can’t make it at all. There is drama practice which fall on Friday and Saturday since I have to work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After calling my supervisor to ask permission for me escape, but she only allow me to do that today. I can only going practice today but absence tomorrow. Dear God, please give unlimited strength for me to complete my tasks, getting well sooner for me to practice on my project presentation, drama practice, prepare open book exam that fall on Monday next week for my Asas Pengurusan Kualiti subject I take other than Foundation English, and even working…

Ching~~ALL ABOUT ME
My name is Law Ai Ching. You can call me Ching or just call my nickname that is Helen. I came from Nibong Tebal, Penang. I am studying Statistics program in Faculty of Science and Technology. Actually my first choice in my application form to go to IPTA is Dietetic course where Statistics is my fifth choice. I would like to be a dietician before I didn’t receive any university offer letter. Since after chosen to study in UKM, I cannot think of that anymore. Even thought I had tried to change course to Dietetic program but still fail to make it. Studying Statistics, dealing with numbers is my part of studying. Counting probabilities, writing program, solving equations seems be a part of my daily activities. It’s hard for me to do but I accept it all because I am sure that what is given by the God are the best and the best suit to me. I like to listen to music when I am free. Instead of reading, I also like to surf internet to look for what is going on and sometime can find something interesting. Even thought our older generation said that cooking is a must as a girl but I only able to make some dishes and bake chocolate and banana cakes. Even I am fat enough for my height but I still like to try new food and make new dishes since as for me eating is a kind of enjoy. I like to learn it from my mum whenever go back my hometown. Judging from my external you may think that I am just a simple person but the very deep inside my heart is really complicated even can’t be described by words. Kind of book I like the most is about love and health. Books about health can help me to maintain my healthy lifestyle. How about books of love, I will improve myself as I focus on the authors viewpoint. That is all I can share with you all in this post since it’s too late for me to go to my dreamland. To know more about me you can meet me and add me into your friendster’s friend list at helenveronica1988@hotmail.com and my MSN at the same address too… See you all there.Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Ching~~IDEAL AMOUNT OF SLEEP
By LAURA BLUE Tue Jun 10, 4:00 PM ET
Sleep is one of the richest topics in science today: why we need it, why it can be hard to get, and how that affects everything from our athletic performance to our income. Daniel Kripke, co-director of research at the Scripps Clinic Sleep Center in La Jolla, Calif., has looked at the most important question of all. In 2002, he compared death rates among more than 1 million American adults who, as part of a study on cancer prevention, reported their average nightly amount of sleep. To many his results were surprising, but they've since been corroborated by similar studies in Europe and East Asia. Kripke explains.
Q: How much sleep is ideal?
A: Studies show that people who sleep between 6.5 hours and 7.5 hours a night, as they report, live the longest. And people who sleep 8 hours or more, or less than 6.5 hours, they don't live quite as long. There is just as much risk associated with sleeping too long as with sleeping too short. The big surprise is that long sleep seems to start at 8 hours. Sleeping 8.5 hours might really be a little worse than sleeping five.
Morbidity, [or sickness,] is also "U-shaped," in the sense that both very short sleep and very long sleep are associated with many illnesses - with depression, with obesity, and therefore with heart disease and so forth. But the [ideal amount of sleep] for different health measures isn't all in the same place. Most of the "low points" are at seven or eight hours, but there are some at six and some even at nine. I think diabetes is lowest in seven-hour sleepers, [for example]. But these measures aren't as clear as the mortality data.
I think we can speculate [about why people who sleep 6.5 to 7.5 hours live longer], but we have to admit that we don't really understand the reasons. We don't really know yet what is cause and what is effect. So we don't know if a short sleeper can live longer by extending their sleep, and we don't know if a long sleeper can live longer by setting the alarm clock a bit earlier. We're hoping to organize tests of those questions.
One of the reasons I like to publicize these facts is that I think we can prevent a lot of insomnia and distress just by telling people that short sleep is OK. We've all been told you ought to sleep eight hours, but there was never any evidence. A very common problem we see at sleep clinics is people who spend too long in bed. They think they should sleep eight hours or nine hours, so they spend eight or nine hours in bed, with the result that they have trouble falling asleep and they wake up a lot during the night. Oddly enough, a lot of the problem [of insomnia] is lying in bed awake worrying about it. There have been many controlled studies in the United States, Great Britain and other parts of Europe that show that an insomnia treatment that involves getting out of bed when you're not sleepy, and restricting your time in bed, actually helps people to sleep more. They get over their fear of the bed. They get over the worry, and they become confident that when they go to bed they will sleep. So spending less time in bed actually makes sleep better. It is in fact a more powerful and effective long-term treatment for insomnia than sleeping pills. View this article on Time.com
My Little Princess
Hi. this is the picture of my nephew, Zetty Farhana and her sister. I would like to share with you about my little princess. She is my lovely nephew. She got a good looking. She's about 3 years old. After I finished my study at secondary school, I want to find a job. But my lovely father did not give a permission. So, my sister ask me to take care of her daugther because she already give a birth about a month. She is a teacher and she need to work. Nobody will take care of her baby. So, I agree. She promise me to pay my salary every month. Then, I moved to my sister's house. I take care of the baby. I did all of work like cooking, give a bath to the baby, clean up the house and also make the baby sleep when afternoon. It is so difficult because the baby dont want anyone except her mother. But now, she love me and I love her so much. She will get whatever she want. I will give everything. That's my lovely princess.
