The Tokyo Hall is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It held title of the tallest building in Tokyo . It is 243 metres high. The Tokyo hall also referred to as The Metropolitan Government Building or Tocho. It is the building which houses the headquarters of the Tokyo Local Government. The architect was Kenzo Tange. This building have many symbolic touches , most notably the aforementioned split which re-creates the look of a Gothic Cathedral. The building consists of a complex of three structures each taking up a city block. The tallest and most prominent of the three is Tokyo Metropolitan Main building No.1, a tower 48 stories tall that splits into two sections at the 33rd floor. The building also has three levels below ground. This building was finished build in 1991 at expense of 157 billion Yen or about 1 billion US Dollars. This building also has a popular nickname. It is “Tax Tower”.
