A satellite is any object
which orbits another object. All bodies that
are part of the solar system, for
example the Earth and Jupiter are
satellites. Most
of these bodies orbit the sun, but others orbit planets. For example, the moon
orbits the Earth. When we
use the term ‘Satellite’, we
usually mean an artificial satellite. This
is a man-made
object that orbits the Earth, or
another body. However,
scientists may also use the term for natural satellites, or moons.
